The moment when you decide to study in China and begin to research and review universities you will get tons of information that collapses on you and usually it condricts to each other. We mean different forums, blogs, articles, and etc.
Thus, before choosing the university make a list or plan.
Choosing the university in China
Count all pros and cons, write down on the left side on your sheet what do you want from the university and on the right what you don’t want.
For instance, I would like to learn pure language, to have university placed in the big city with population around 10 million people. Furthermore, I want warm climate and prefer to study with students not from my country. I want classed be taught only in Chinese or English. Of course, I am exaggerating but if there will be some questions on your preferences then it will be easier to for you to make right choice.
Frequently, students tend to study in south parts of China but they risk to practice the Cantonese dialect instead of Poutunghua/Mandarin and the the sea isn’t a major factor in the study location.
In addition, the practice of registering students shows that very often when choosing a university a student is guided by the advice of relatives, friends or acquaintances, and not by his own preferences. We often hear (for example): “I want to study in Dalian, because my friend studied there for a year, and he likes it.” The recommendation is simple – remember that in addition to studying there will be a further life (and often in China) but friends may not be there and not everyone likes the specialties or the way it taught in that university. It’s a very rare case when a student is looking back and satisfied with the choice of the university he/she made in the past. And new friends in the student environment will appear A rare case when a person, looking back, is satisfied with the choice of the university and the cause of life in the past. And new friends in the student environment will appear in your life in the first day of the study.
